Supplier comparison

Aniva as a LabServices alternative

LabServices posts a kit to your customer and Aniva does that too, then adds a supervised blood draw and a catalogue of over 2,500 parameters.

You are choosing a white-label diagnostics supplier for a longevity clinic, a wellness brand or a supplement company in Europe. White label means the supplier does the work while your brand is the only name the customer sees, on the kit, in the portal and on the report. Everything stated below about LabServices comes from labservices.de and from its longevity page.

Collection

A mailed kit and a supervised draw are different products

Venous draw

In your clinic or at 25+ partner locations

Capillary kit

Tasso, lancet, finger-prick

At-home kit

Mailed to your customer, prepaid return

Saliva

Hormones, genetics, microbiome

Urine

Metabolites, hormones, screening

Stool

Microbiome, iFOBT, calprotectin

LabServices describes home testing, and its longevity page names capillary blood, urine, saliva and stool samples that a customer collects and returns by post. That covers a large part of what a longevity brand sells today, because micronutrient status, hormone profiles and microbiome analysis all work from a home sample.

The venous draw is the part a mailed kit cannot do. A venous draw is blood taken from a vein in the arm by trained staff, and some assays need more serum than a capillary device collects, so a clinic that wants both formats has to arrange the draw somewhere.

The question for you is whether your programme needs a supervised draw in a room with your name on the door. If it does not, a kit-only supplier does the job with fewer moving parts. If it does, you are buying a network of locations and the people who staff them as well as a laboratory.

Catalogue

How much catalogue does your roadmap need

Catalogue size only matters when your roadmap needs it. A brand that will sell one micronutrient panel for the next two years is well served by 400 parameters, because it will use perhaps thirty of them.

A clinic that wants to add pharmacogenomics or a polygenic risk score in year two is choosing a supplier for a catalogue it cannot yet name. Transcriptomics and proteomics are not named on the LabServices pages, and on genetics those pages name test solutions compliant with the German genetic diagnostics act, with pharmacogenetic tests described as forthcoming for one insurer programme.

LabServices

Parameters through partner laboratories

Over 400 laboratory parameters, with biological age markers, micronutrient status, hormone and metabolic profiles, inflammation markers and microbiome analysis named as the focus.

Aniva

An orderable catalogue

Over 2,500 parameters across eight modalities, from routine blood chemistry through to genomics and proteomics.

The result layer

What your customer reads after the result

Both companies put your brand on the report, so the difference is in what each one publishes about the contents. For a membership or a subscription, the trend view is the part that decides whether somebody renews, because a number on its own is just a number and the change is what they came for.

LabServices

Digital and printed reports

Reports delivered digitally and on paper if you want that, a customer journey in your own look and feel, and a team that helps customers with test use and interpretation.

Aniva

A white-label dashboard

A plain-language explanation for every marker, with a trend view across repeated panels and a customer-facing PDF. Your logo, colours and domain are on all of it, in German and English.

Coverage

Where each company sells today

LabServices runs a German-language site on a .de domain, and neither page read states an operation outside Germany. That is a sensible shape for a German group serving German insurers, and it is the first thing to check if your own plan crosses a border.

Aniva sells Diagnostics as a Service to partners across Europe, while the consumer membership and the physical draw network are in Germany. The compliance set named on the Aniva page is the GDPR with a data processing agreement included, infrastructure hosted in Germany, and an admin panel built with the Medical Device Regulation in mind.

The partner contract carries anti-kickback clauses drafted against the German criminal code provisions on corruption in healthcare and against the model professional code for doctors. Contract wording does not by itself make an arrangement lawful, because the pricing and the substance decide that, so have your own counsel review the commercial terms as well as the clause.

Questions

Questions buyers ask before anything else

Does Aniva replace a kit supplier or work alongside it?

Aniva runs the at-home kit and the capillary kit as two of its six collection methods, so a partner can use it for kits alone. Most clinics look further because of the venous draw, which is the method a mailed kit cannot cover.

Is the venous network available outside Germany?

The partner draw locations are in Germany, and the Diagnostics as a Service offering itself is sold to partners across Europe. Ask on the call how physical collection works in your own country and which countries are covered today, because the answer differs by market.

How many kits do we have to commit to?

Aniva has not published a minimum order for the partner offering, so the commitment is agreed in the commercial conversation. Ask for the terms in writing on the first call, and ask LabServices the same question.

How long does it take to go live?

Aniva publishes four weeks from a signed contract to the first draw, and that includes the white-label setup. Kalia Lab is a live partner running Berlin, Hamburg and Duesseldorf on a single integration.

What do our developers get at the start?

Aniva publishes a REST API with signed webhook events for sample status, a sandbox with test data, and documentation at docs.anivahealth.com. LabServices states that its API connects laboratory and company systems and that the integration is flexible to your setup.

What is a venous draw, and why does a wide panel need it?

A venous draw is blood taken from a vein in the arm by trained staff. It gives far more serum than a sample taken at home, so one sample is enough for more than forty analyses rather than a handful.
