About this panel

What does it contain?

Important to know. This is a genetic test, so in Germany it is doctor-ordered and includes genetic counselling under the Gendiagnostikgesetz (GenDG). It shows how your genes may affect medication, it does not replace your prescriber. Never start, stop, or change a medication or dose without your doctor.

Conditions: Unexpected drug side effects, medications not working as expected, drug toxicity at normal doses.

Symptoms: Unusual side effects at standard doses, poor response to medications, prior bad reactions to drugs.

Who it is for:

  • Individuals starting or optimizing medications (antidepressants, blood thinners, pain medication).
  • People with a history of unusual medication reactions.
  • Those pursuing personalised dosing for better outcomes.

Test frequency: Once in a lifetime, your genetic profile does not change. Reuse results across all future medications.

FAQ

Questions about this panel

Where can I get tested?

We have 25+ partner locations across Germany. After signing up, you can choose your preferred location and book an appointment directly through our platform. See all locations at anivahealth.com/locations.

Who analyzes my blood?

Your samples are processed by our certified medical partner laboratory in Germany, which follows strict quality controls and is regularly audited. All results are medically validated by a medical director and specialist in laboratory medicine to ensure the highest accuracy and reliability. For specific diagnostics like omega fatty acid profiles, samples are sent to specialized partner labs because there are fewer than 5 labs in Germany that test omega fatty acids.

How accurate is the lab analysis?

Aniva works with a certified German partner lab that complies with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and is consistently audited. There may be a small natural variance on each marker, which is standard for any laboratory. If a blood marker is significantly off, we retest it or connect you with a doctor. Our comprehensive testing is 7x more extensive than a standard medical checkup, providing a much more complete picture of your health.

Can I share my results with my doctor?

Yes. You can download a PDF or share a link directly from the Aniva platform. Your results are formatted to be easily understood by any healthcare provider.

How do the follow-up tests work?

It depends on what you want to test and how often. We'll advise through the action plan what makes sense — for most people that's 1–2 tests per year. Follow-up tests happen at one of our partner practices (venous blood draw), typically the one you visited the first time. Your action plan will recommend which markers to retest based on what's critical to monitor, what changed in your last test, and what needs extra attention.

Do I need to talk to a doctor to understand the report?

The action plan and biomarker overview is designed to be understandable without medical training, and every marker comes with a personalized recommendation. We also offer optional consultation calls with a physician as a paid add-on if you want deeper clinical context.
